- Malaysia's most valuable phone company, Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM), swung to an expected quarterly loss after it had to make a large payment following a legal battle.
- European investment bank NM Rothschild & Sons is back in the local financial scene, with the opening of an office in Kuala Lumpur under the name Rothschild Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
- Leading integrated media investment group Media Prima Bhd has posted a rise in net profit to RM29.62 million for the fourth quarter ended December 31 2005 compared with RM14.87 million in the same quarter of the previous year.
- Wimems Corp Bhd, which is set to enter Thailand with its joint-venture partner Shin Satellite Public Co Ltd to produce and market high-end satellite-based antennas, is also eyeing an entry into Indonesia and the Philippines by this year.
