Feb. 28--BOURNE -- Silicon Valley, Cape Cod is not.
But in a largely maritime, service-oriented and construction-based economy, Onset Computer Corp., a mom-and-pop tech company launched in a Falmouth barn in 1986, has swollen to 120 employees.
And with the arrival of a new product designed to track a building's overall power consumption, the homegrown business hopes to spin into whole new market.
"It was a stunner to see electricity bills," Onset president Mark McSherry said during a recent interview at the company's MacArthur Boulevard headquarters in Bourne.
