U.S. stocks down on GDP report

NEW YORK, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- A modest fourth quarter gross domestic product report Tuesday weighed on U.S. stocks.

The Dow Jones industrial average fell 104.14 or 0.94 percent to 11,099.41 on a volume of 957.1 million shares. The Nasdaq composite was off 25.79 or 1.12 percent to 2,281.39, and the Standard & Poor's 500 slipped 13.57 or 1.05 percent to 1,280.55.
