Shanghai, 4 November: The Yangtze River Delta, with Shanghai at the centre, is expected to contribute at least 20 per cent to China's gross domestic product (GDP) this year. In the first three quarters alone, the area reported 1.97 trillion yuan (about 240bn US dollars) of GDP, making up 21.2 per cent of the country's total, said a source with State Development and Reform Commission (SDRC) at an ongoing meeting on the coordinated economic development in the Yangtze River Delta in Shanghai.
