This morning the tiger lilies bloomed beside the house. The bleeding hearts are almost ready to start up. Even though my hair is scribbly and my feet are too big, time has a feeling in its bones. I am waiting on the porch swing. I think I'm going to fall in love. I am like a birch tree turning its seeds loose. The birch tree doesn't mourn, even when it's carted off to the lumber mill.
