THE Country Music Association of Canberra has struck gold, winning the Country Music Club of the Year Award at the 2004 Australian Country Recording Awards.
At the 'Tamworth on Parade Spectacular' held at Rooty Hill RSL Club, the Canberra club edged out the competition to take the coveted award.
Country Music Association of Canberra publicity officer Mike Crozier, said the award had been a pleasant surprise.
''Fifteen months ago we were going through the doldrums,'' Mr Crozier said.
