THE SECOND time they saw the black car was on television. The first time around, it was parked in their neighborhood.
What residents of Sitio Maagay 1 in Barangay Inarawan, Antipolo City, saw was the black Honda Civic of 22-year-old Philippine Women's University student Jaimarie Reyes.
At the time they saw the car on the news, Reyes was still missing after disappearing on Oct. 10. Reyes was later found cold and lifeless in a morgue in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Also on the news, the residents recognized Gilbert Ronquillo, a nephew of their neighbor, Paul Sayritan.
Ronquillo had been arrested with six other persons at a house in Barangay Payapa in Padre Garcia, Batangas, for possession of Reyes' car, which they had begun dismantling.
