THE LIGHT Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) has acknowledged owing Pasay City P197 million in taxes but may ask President Macapagal-Arroyo to have it condoned.
"We acknowledge the tax debt and we are looking for a more permanent solution,'' said Mel Robles, LRTA general manager.
He said a compromise agreement was discussed with Pasay City treasurer Ofelia Oliva in a meeting last week.
"No final agreement was reached and the board has to approve of any action we are going to take,'' Robles said.
