TAIPEI, Nov 1 Asia Pulse - Taiwan's economic prospects remain rosy despite some indications showing that the booming domestic economy is likely to abate in the coming months, Minister of Economic Affairs Ho Mei-yueh said Sunday.
Taiwan's economy enjoyed a growth of 6.67 per cent in the first quarter of this year and 7.68 per cent in the second quarter, Ho noted, adding that the third quarter's growth rate is estimated to post more than 5 per cent.
In another development, the minister said that export orders received by Taiwan in the first nine months of this year accumulated to US$155.29 billion, up 26.26 per cent from the previous year's level.
In September alone, she went on, Taiwan received export orders worth US$19.5 billion, an increase of 26.61 per cent year-on-year and marking a new monthly record.
