SEOUL, Nov 1 Asia Pulse - The growth of semiconductor output in South Korea dropped by almost half in the last four months, sending the country's overall industrial production into a tailspin, government data showed Sunday.
The production of semiconductors rose 34.2 per cent in September from a year earlier, sharply down from a 68.1-percent jump in May, according to a tally by the National Statistical Office.
With chip production tumbling, the nation's overall industrial output grew a mere 9.3 per cent last month, compared with a 13.5-percent increase in August.
