US PETROCHEMICALS giant Dow Corning increased its liquid bulk throughput by 24% through the Port of Barry in 2003.
'Barry is a niche port, as well as the site for one of ABP's most significant property development ventures in South Wales,' says ABP South Wales port director, John Copping.
'The port is servicing Dow Corning, as well as other significant volumes of bulk traffic, timber and steel, although growth has not matched either Newport or Cardiff.'
