SWEDISH shipowner Brostrom yesterday revealed pre-tax profit for the first nine months of the year rose to SKr243m from Skr216m a year ago and booked a SKr21m profit from the sale of its product tanker Bro Selma, writes Jerry Frank
The Gothenburg-based product and chemical tanker specialist reported net profit of SKr383m compared with SKr155m last year, and benefitted greatly from a SKr148m tax credit.
Third quarter pre-tax profit rose to SKr33m from SKr31m a year earlier despite seasonal decline in the market, bad weather and drydockings.
Brostrom indicated that the fourth quarter had started well with strong freight rates in all of the group's segments and forecast 'further positive developments'.
