Statesman News Service KOLKATA, Oct. 30. - Birla Corporation Limited, flagship company of the M P Birla Group, recorded a substantial improvement in performance, with its net profit for the quarter ended 30 September, 2004 rising to Rs 3.38 crore compared to a loss of Rs 8.14 crore during the corresponding quarter the previous year. The operating profit has increased by 287 per cent to Rs 26.10 crore against Rs 6.75 per cent. The turnover increased by 17 per cent to Rs 328.33 crore (Rs 280.93 crore).
