SINGLE Australian women may be looking for love, but most are doing so without resorting to huge Bridget Jones-style undies, according to a new survey.
The survey by online dating service Match.com set out to discover how similar single Australian women were to the classic anxiety- ridden, weight-watching ''singleton'', Bridget Jones.
It coincided with last week's Australian premiere of The Edge of Reason starring Renee Zellweger, the sequel to Bridget Jones's Diary.
Results revealed slightly more refined behaviour by single Australian women, but with more than a touch of Bridget thrown in.
Looking good on first dates was a priority, 55 per cent of respondents saying they would wear their sexiest underwear for the occasion.
Only 14 per cent admitted to wearing figure-shaping ''enormous panties'' like those worn by Bridget and uncovered on a date with her sexy but shallow boss, Daniel Cleaver, played by Hugh Grant.
