SARASOTA -- Sure, October is almost over. And anyone with a couple of krauts and lederhosen these days feels the need to hold an Oktoberfest.
But the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, 5401 Bay Shore Road, Sarasota, has an excuse. The Ringlings were of Bavarian heritage.
So what better way, the museum surmised, to entice more people to visit its grounds than a genuine German Oktoberfest?
"We're always looking for new ways to attract diversity in the community," said Jennifer Carroll, coordinator of guest services for the museum. "We thought it was a natural tie."
