New Delhi, Oct. 25 - THE Government is committed to the creation of a modern world-class airport in Chennai and plans to follow the same joint venture route that is being adopted for the development of airports in Delhi and Mumbai, official sources said here on Monday.

The issue also came up for discussion at the high-powered meeting which the Minister for Civil Aviation, Mr Praful Patel, had with the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, here recently.
