(From Financial Director)
The seventh annual Finance Directors' Forum, hosted by Richmond Events, will take place from 4-7 November on board the P&O flagship Aurora. More than 200 FDs from medium and large organisations will attend, along with suppliers and expert speakers.
This year, the programme includes a wide selection of keynote speeches and presentations chaired by Evan Davis, economics editor of the BBC, as well as smaller group activities such as workshops and think tanks, where FDs can talk amongst themselves about key issues. There will also be one-on-one coaching on communication skills to achieve their goals.
FDs will get the opportunity to network with their peers and discuss business needs with key suppliers. And, after all the hard work, they can take advantage of personal golf lessons on board or can gamble away their bonus in the casino.
Here are the key themes that will be addressed at this year's FD Forum.
NUMBERS
The economy is a key focus for this year's forum, with Oliver Letwin, Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, starting proceedings with the opening address. Roger Bootle will then present on general economics and the outlook for the dollar. Steve Pigney of Barclays will cover treasury.
