Johnson Service Group, the business and consumer support services company, has appointed James Wilkinson to its board as chief financial officer. Wilkinson, a former group FD with business publishers Informa, replaces Mike Sutton, who has resigned from the board.
Martin Allen, finance director of confectionery business Thorntons, has left the company. Chris Burnett, executive chairman of the company, said: "We've been investing heavily in computer technology over the past few years and don't yet see the results of that investment coming through." Thorntons will bring in a temporary FD and expects to find a permanent one within six months.
Vodafone has appointed Andrew Halford as FD designate. Halford will take over in July 2005, when present FD Ken Hydon retires. Halford, currently chief financial officer of US mobile company Verizon Wireless, was previously at Vodafone in 1999 as FD for the UK, Northern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Telegraph group FD Niamh O'Donnell-Keenan is one of two senior directors to leave after a management reshuffle. The company, formerly owned by Conrad Black's Hollinger Group, was sold to the Barclay brothers. At the time of going to press, the group had not commented further on a replacement.
Fred Stratford, FD of TUI UK, formerly Thomson Holidays, has left the company. He was previously FD of Britannia. Peter Rothwell, chief executive of TUI UK, said: "Our financial management processes have progressed immensely under his leadership."
Park Group has appointed Martin Stewart as its group finance director. Stewart, the former Eddie Stobart and UK Waste Management finance director, succeeds Chris Houghton, who has been promoted to group managing director.
