The Next Edge in Corporate Performance: Quality of New Hires
A study conducted by iLogos Research in the areas of staffing economics, benchmarking, and best practices, indicates that to date, little or no focus has been given to quality programs that determine the quality of hire and quantify its impact on enterprise productivity and financial results. However, one large manufacturing company measuring worker productivity conservatively reports that a one percent increase in new hire worker productivity resulted in a five percent increase to earnings per share, iLogos Founder and President Yves Lermusiaux stated, "Similar to Six Sigma, ISO 9000 and other quality programs, when the staffing process is optimized, organizations can tap into a huge value creator: their new workforces' quality. Much time and effort has been spent to measure efficiencies of staffing, yet the greater value creator is effectiveness." He added, "The quality of employee performance begins with the quality of hire."
