Tokyo, Oct. 21 (Jiji Press)--Consumer electronics shipments in Japan in September grew 7.6 pct from a year before to 200.6 billion yen, up for the 10th consecutive month, an industry group said Thursday.

Strong demand for flat-panel television sets and digital versatile disc recorders boosted overall shipments, the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association said.

Among flat-panel TVs, those with liquid crystal displays shot up 59 pct to 222,000 units and plasma display …
