SYDNEY, Oct 22 Asia Pulse - The Australian dollar benefited from US dollar weakness to close firmer today but was unable to climb back up to the $US0.7400 level.
At 1700 AEST the local currency was at $US0.7381/85 compared to yesterday's close of 0.7359/63.
