Coenzyme Q10 is a powerful antioxidant. It combats free radical stress and assists in energy production. It is also called ubiqui-none because it is ubiquitous-- it is found in all cells.

The free radical theory of aging, first proposed in 1956, is one of the most widely accepted theories to explain the cause of aging. Free radicals are formed naturally through normal human metabolism but can also be produced as a result of air pollution, smoking, radiation, alcohol use, exercise, and inflammation.

Coenzyme Q1O (CoQ10) may prevent oxidative, stress-induced apoptosis by inhibiting lipid peroxidation in plasma membranes, thereby decreasing free radical formation.
