SARASOTA -- Reversing a decision made earlier this month, the City Commission on Monday unanimously endorsed a proposal to move forward with plans to renovate the Lido Beach pavilion.
Members of a resident task force will now explore options for funding the project, which they estimate will cost between $1 million and $2 million. They will also draft a more detailed master plan that must be approved by the city before construction can begin.
"It is important for this project to move forward," Commissioner Lou Ann Palmer said. "We need to re-liven that area and bring it back to its glory."
