PUTRAJAYA, Oct 19 (Bernama) -- Minister of Energy, Water and Communication, Datuk Seri Dr Lim Keng Yaik feels that the introduction of band-based electricity tariff structure could promote a more efficient and optimum usage of energy.

He said that the ministry was thinking of readjusting the current structure of tariff whereby the level of charges on electricity used would be largely based on the different bands of supplies.

"I am thinking of four supply bands - basic usage for band 1, domestic (band 2), commercial (band 3), and industrial for band four," he explained.
