They laughed out loud when the Seahawks gave a $14 million signing bonus to free-agent defensive end Grant Wistrom. But really, the curly-haired surfer dude from Missouri is a perfect fit in a Paul Allen collection that includes The Octopus, the world's largest and most expensive yacht; Captain Kirk's chair from Star Trek; Michael Jackson's sequined glove; the Seahawks, and this here magazine.

Really, Mr. Allen, sir, Wistrom was not a bad investment (smooch, smooch).

Wistrom clearly has been the best pass rusher--and maybe the best player--on the Seahawks' much-improved defense, which had ranked first in the league before running into the Rams on Sunday. ...
