MobiTV quietly launched service with AT&T Wireless Services Inc. 10 days ago, marking the second carrier launch for the live TV streaming service.
The service, which is provided by Berkeley, Calif.-based Idetic Inc., includes live video content from more than 20 channels, including CSPAN, Discovery, Fox Sports and ABC and NBC news. It is being offered to AWS mMode subscribers who carry either the Nokia 6620 or Motorola V600 handsets. Oddly enough, AWS no longer directly offers those handsets, but they are available from retailers.
AWS initially will offer MobiTV to its mMode subscribers for $8 a month; the monthly fee is later expected to increase to $10.
