Bishkek, 19 October: An officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Chechnya has been detained in Kyrgyzstan, Russian Minister of Internal Affairs Rashid Nurgaliyev, who is attending a joint session of the Kyrgyz and Russian interior ministries, told journalists today.

He said the operation had been carried out jointly with the two countries' law-enforcement departments. "It has been established that the detainee, who lived in Bishkek using fake documents, and had three forged passports, is in fact a certain Akhtakhanov, resident of the village of Kurchaloy of Chechnya's Shalin District.
