NIKKO CORDIAL TO HIKE PROPRIETARY INVESTMENT BY 70% VIA TIE-UPS
TOKYO - The Nikko Cordial Corp. (TSE:8603) group plans to bolster investment of its own capital by about 70 per cent over the next two years, tapping alliances with overseas private equity funds. The expansion will lift the balance of Nikko Cordial's proprietary investment from 309.6 billion yen (US$2.65 billion) as of the end of 2005 to around 500 billion yen. With shareholder equity exceeding 800 billion yen on a consolidated basis, the group has judged that it can afford to expose itself to greater financial risk.
