SUBIC BAY FREEPORT - Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo gave high marks to the prime movers of the development projects in and around the Subic-Clark corridor in a live television roundtable discussion on Monday.
Top executives of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) and Clark Development Corporation (CDC), and the Subic-Clark Alliance for Development (SCAD) project were lauded for doing a good job in implementing development projects designed to position Subic and Clark as a major service and logistics hub of Asia.

MANILA - The leadership of the House committee on transportation on Tuesday urged the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) and the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) to compel the Philippine International Air Terminals Co. (PIATCO) and Takenaka, the Japanese firm contracted by PIATCO, to ensure the full safety of NAIA Terminal 3 following the collapse of a portion of its ceiling Monday.
Reps. Monico Puentevella (Bacolod City) and Federico Samdoval ll (Malabon-Navotas) issued the call as they expressed concern that the accident was an indication of substandard construction within the airport facility.
