White men still hold the strong majority of the most powerful jobs in college sports, according to a recent report by the Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport at the University of Central Florida.
While slightly more members of minority groups were hired as presidents, ADs and head football coaches at NCAA Division 1-A schools in 2005, nearly 90% of those posts are still held by white men and women. Almost 95% of Division 1-A presidents are white, as are 89% of ADs.
