A few years ago, Sony Pictures released a film entitled "Not Another Teenage Movie." My initial reaction on receiving a copy for review of O'Connor's Federal Employment Codes Plus 2005-06 ("O'Connor's") was virtually the same: Not Another Employment Law Book. In addition to West's Federal Labor Laws (West Group) and Matthew-Bender's Federal Annotated Labor and Employment Code (MB), do we really need another lightly annotated compendium of virtually the same statutes? Notwithstanding the admiration I have for other Jones McClure publications (various annotated codes and litigation series), in this case, I most reluctantly conclude: No.
At the outset, all three publications reprint what Jones McClure refers to on its web site as "all of the federal employment statutes that you need." In most cases, that is probably true, but there are some minor differences among the three concerning the scope of coverage.
