Browns tight end Kellen Winslow will miss the 2005 season recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in a motorcycle accident last month. Winslow's father, Kellen Winslow Sr., spoke to Sporting News Radio's James Brown last week about his son's injury.
On the media's coverage of the accident: "I have no trouble with people reporting the facts. I have trouble with the viciousness of it, the meanness of it. Yes, I am in the media, but I conduct myself in a certain way. I report what happens. I don't get into (an athlete's) personal life. I don't call them bad people. I report the games, and I give my opinion on the game. This has gone beyond that, and this is not the first time. We live in a society that is all about trashing people. We have television programs--highly rated--that are all about embarrassing people."
