A DOZEN of the country's bigger credit unions are poised to begin offering mortgages to members.
They are currently waiting for the Financial Regulator to give the go-ahead, having already secured the nod from their own memberships.
Bishopstown Credit Union in Cork City has already pioneered this new departure for the movement. It opened for mortgage business earlier this month in partnership with IIB Homeloans, a division of IIB Bank.
