A New law promoting gay rights could cause the loss of a huge proportion of Highland tourism, it was claimed yesterday.

Skye hotelier David Morton was speaking ahead of October's introduction of the 2006 Equality Act which will outlaw discrimination against people's sexual orientation by pubs, clubs, hotels and religious charities.

Hotels and B&B owners will have no right to turn a male or female couple away on the grounds that they have requested a double bed.
