Canon U.S.A. (Lake Success, NY) has expanded its imageRunner product family with the addition of six new offerings.
The color-enabled imageRunner C6870U and C5870U, designed for large workgroups and busy corporate departments, take advantage of Canon's proprietary Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform (MEAP) technology. The imageRunner C6870U achieves output speeds of up to 68 letter-size pages per minute (ppm) in black and white and 16ppm in color. Also capable of 16ppm in color, the imageRunner C5870U can output to 58ppm in black and white.
Both new color-enabled imageRunner devices are available with a choice of one or two print controllers. The Color UFR IIO/PCL/PS Printer Kit-L1 includes Ultra Fast Rendering II, PCL 5c, and PostScript emulation printing. The imagePass-G1 print controller option supports Adobe PostScript 3 and PCL 5c. Both models also sport basic Color Universal Send and optional fax capabilities, as well as a wealth of document management and security features. Available now, the imageRunner C6870U and C5870U are priced at $23,500 and $19,100, respectively.
