Members of Arizona's Senate and House affirmed their dissatisfaction with phony "free trade" agreements by, voting to for-really request rejection at the federal level of the proposed Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA), a pact that would create a so-called free trade agreement between 34 countries in North and South America.
Called the House Concurrent Memorial 2006, the resolution urges the Congress not to enter the FTAA because the FTAA does not represent true free trade and does not safeguard American constitutional principles. The body of the resolution includes the following findings:
