In "10 Fallacies and Rebuttals" (re: FTAA) by William Norman Grigg in the February 7 issue of THE NEW AMERICAN, Mr. Grigg makes the same mistake most people do when they use the word "conservative" by itself to describe the group of people with a philosophy usually associated with the Republican Party, i.e. smaller government, fiscal restraint, belief in God, individual self-reliance, etc.

When it comes to discussing so-called free trade agreements, there is a huge chasm between conservatives. Mr. Grigg states in the "Fallacy No. 6" section of the article that "By beguiling conservatives [emphasis mine] into supporting the accord on the pre-text of 'free trade,' they have a much better chance of getting it through ...
