By late last year, the senior class at Montana's Lima High School had accumulated $5,000 in the class trip fund. They had been working and saving since eighth grade to travel to the beautiful coastal community of Seaside, Oregon. Since most of them had never seen the ocean, it would be a very special event.
When the eight seniors received word that Mrs. Karla McGraw, one of their teachers, had been diagnosed with advanced breast cancer, they immediately agreed to give up their trip and use their hard-earned funds to help her with medical expenses. Their act was completely selfless, and they expected neither recognition nor reward. Though they rarely spoke about their act, word soon got around.
