A December 14 news story by WTKR-TV of Hampton, Virginia, reported that a man, unidentified for reasons of security, fought back when he was confronted by a robber outside a nightclub.
After investigating the scene of the shooting, taking eyewitness accounts, and viewing surveillance video of the incident, police believe that the intended robbing victim was approached by the would-be robber, Tony Kensler, Jr., in the parking lot behind the Treasure Chest nightclub. However, instead of targeting a compliant victim, Kensler had inadvertently chosen a victim who was willing to fight back and who had a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
The intended victim, upon being approached by Kensler, immediately drew his own handgun and began firing, hitting Kensler in the arm, leg, and chest. ...
