According to a news story covered by WSOC-TV Channel 9 of Charlotte, North Carolina, posted November 24, an intruder broke into an occupied apartment, forcing the homeowner to defend himself.

Jamie Harris, the resident, was sleeping on Tuesday, November 23, when he was roused out of bed by two "booms." Upon rising, Harris realized that an intruder was in the apartment. Knowing that his fiancee and baby were also in the apartment, Harris grabbed his gun. Then, in a moment of misfortune, the intruder got hold of the gun and pointed it toward Harris' head. Harris then somehow "reversed it" and shot the intruder in the leg, causing him to flee.
