An October 20 story in the Daily Local News reported that at about 11 p.m. on the night of Monday, October 18, Nakie Thomas of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, was watching television when two men broke into her home.

Thomas responded quickly, firing multiple shots at the intruders, hitting the window, the television, and one of the men. The assailants immediately fled in a waiting sedan.
