Mar. 9--This much is certain: Dallas and Fort Worth now have formally agreed to solve their long-standing disagreement over flight restrictions at Dallas Love Field. They didn't agree on a deadline. The Dallas City Council voted Wednesday to come up with a compromise by June 14. On Tuesday evening, the Fort Worth City Council set an Aug. 1 deadline for itself. What remains unclear, even to the most intimately involved parties, is what the two cities will do to reach a pact that they can present to Congress, which has been considering repeal of the Wright amendment. --Recommend creating a regional airport authority that governs Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and the now city-owned Love Field -- and other regional airports, as well? --Call for a full repeal of the...
