Jason Jammillo is the PHILLIES' catcher of the future because of his defense and strong arm. He's also a switch hitter who has quick hands and gap power. Look for Sal Fasono to catch as many as half the games this season if Mike Lieberthal struggles. Fasano hit 11 homers in 160 at-bats with the Orioles last season.... New DIAMONDBACKS pitching coach Bryan Price noticed while watching video that RHP Mike Koplove was purling his head up during his sidearm delivery. That movement caused some pitches to straighten out and his breaking ball to lose too much velocity.... The CUBS don't think CF Juan Pierre's lack of arm strength will be an issue because Wrigley Field's outfield isn't as big as the Marlins' Dolphins Stadium. DODGERS RHP Yhency Brazoban saved 21 games in 2005 but often struggled as the closer. The return of RHP Eric Gagne, the regular closer, and the addition of RHP Danys Baez moves Brazoban to a role with less pressure. He concentrated on refining his slider and changeup in winter ball.... Miguel OIivo projects to be the MARLINS' starting catcher because of his defense, but Josh WiIIingham will get a shot and is working on his fundamentals behind the plate....
