When the U.S. roster was announced for the World Baseball Classic and I was on it, needless to say, I was honored. When I saw the rest of the roster and realized who some of my teammates would be, I was humbled. Surely, I figured, this was the wrong list.
It was a blessing to be on the preliminary list, but it was another thing to make the final roster and to be counted on to get big outs. But I'll feel more comfortable on the field than in the clubhouse rubbing elbows with all those great players.
