There are so many trophies and awards in this sport, I'm surprised they haven't named one after me.
But while we all try to figure what such a trophy would honor--the best player under 5-8?--let's examine races for awards that already exist.
Player of the Year
Front-runner: J.J. Redick, Duke. Whether he is the nation's leading scorer depends on the day, but to find a year in which one of the top three scorers played for one of the top three teams, you must rewind to 1994, when Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson was tearing up the Big Ten for Purdue.
The field: Adam Morrison, Gonzaga. Nobody else is admitted.
The race: Redick will get the nod because he has elevated his play against Atlantic Coast Conference competition.
