THE National Women's Lobby Group has called for the inclusion of a gender policy and equality clause in the Constitution before the 2006 general elections to enable more women participate in elections.

NWLG chairperson Mary Nandazi said this at a discussion programme organised by NWLG at Chrismar Hotel on Wednesday under the theme "Engendering the electoral process to enhance women's participation in elections as voters and candidates."

Ms Nandazi said the group had submitted its recommendations to the Electoral Reforms Technical Committee (ERTC).
