At the invitation of US Treasury Secretary John W. Snow, Chinese Minister of Finance Jin Renqing headed an official delegation to the United States and co-chaired with the US side the 16th China-US Joint Economic Committee. This mechanism held its first session in 1980. US Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan, Governor of the People's Bank of China Zhou Xiaochuan and Chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission Liu Mingkang also attended the session. Both …
