Washington, 30 September: The 16th China-US Joint Economic Committee held a session and issued a joint statement in Washington on 30 September. The full text of the joint statement is as follows:

At the invitation of US Treasury Secretary John W. Snow, Chinese Minister of Finance Jin Renqing headed an official delegation to the United States and co-chaired with the US side the 16th China-US Joint Economic Committee. This mechanism held its first session in 1980. US Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan, Governor of the People's Bank of China Zhou Xiaochuan and Chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission Liu Mingkang also attended the session.
