Crisis is looming in Delta State over a new initiative of the state government concerning scholarship awards and bursaries, with students of the state origin in higher institutions threatening war.
Students of Delta origin are now to write examinations and undergo aptitude tests by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), as prerequisite for scholarship grant. The government called the latest initiative Special Assistance Scheme (SAS) for a mere N10,000, which would be given to 20,000 indigent students.
