Whoever thinks the National Democratic Congress is dead in the Ashanti region, considered to be the traditional stronghold of the NPP, must be joking.

Whoever thinks the National Democratic Congress is dead in the Ashanti region, considered to be the traditional stronghold of the NPP, must be joking.

The visit of the flag bearer, Prof. John Evans Attah Mills last Monday, has proven the contrary.

The party has started making serious incursions into the camp of the ruling government in an attempt to snatch political power, come December 2004 polls, to address the socio-economic and political-cultural aspirations of Ghanaians as stipulated in the NDC's manifesto, "A Better Ghana."

The party's flagbearer, Prof. John Evans Atta Mills, together with his campaign team and the regional executives of the party, has began a campaign tour of the Ashanti region to introduce himself and NDC's parliamentary candidates representing the various constituencies, to the electorate for their votes.
