THEJoint All-Ireland Council (JAC), responsible for the two All-Ireland Championships for bands and soloists, selected the Town Park at Letterkenny for the band events this year.

Despite earlier misgivings from some concerning this venue, the wisdom of the JAC was proved correct.

The Donegal town provided quite a pleasant setting and the weather remained dry following early morning rain. It actually improved as time progressed. Conditions underfoot were somewhat spongy in places, but the arenas on a more elevated site were firm.

All the band titles came to this Province, with Annsborough in Grade Four continuing …
